0047: Time Flies

Time flies, so she has to, too.

Have you seen The Time Travelers? It predates the TV series The Time Tunnel by a couple of years, and may have - ahem - inspired it.

0046: Petulant Pose

She couldn't give up being petulant for Lent.

Here's the original queen of the petulant doing a comic book inspired song:

0045: Obscure Comic Heroines -- Cave Carson's Bonnie

Cave Carson's gal pal, Bonnie! Cave was a spelunker for DC Comics whose solo adventures never made it past Brave and the Bold and Showcase, DC's tryout magazines.

0043: Obscure Comic Heroines -- The Rawhide Kid

To be honest, The Rawhide Kid was a boy, but we kind of like this girl version!

The kid often fought super villains and sci fi menaces in wild west back in the 60s. What I didn't know as a kid myself was that the sci fi western was a cinema staple back in the 30s. The Phantom Empire is probably the most famous of the genre:

0042: Obscure Comic Heroines -- Big Barda

Other than being big, Barda seemed lacking in super powers.

0045: Obscure Comic Heroines -- Vanity

Vanity lasted two issues from the defunct publisher Pacific Comics, and also appeared in Pacific Presents and Exotic Fantasy. An antihero, she used alien technology to become an adventuress.

The Devil Girl From Mars also used alien technology for even less benign purpose:

0040: Late for Class

Erta hated being late, but she always was.

Supergirl was not a good movie, but Helen Slater looked great!

0039: Smokin' Elf

Smoking was bad for the elf's health, even when she wasn't sitting on a powder keg.

Cripes! Is there nothing that can't be found on youtube?

0038: The Flying Girl Gang

Her parents sent her to a private flying school to avoid bullying, but the bad girls still took her lunch money.

If you've never seen Modiver -- you should!

0034: Jungle Girl Week, Judy of the Jungle!

Possibly the worst name for a jungle girl comic strip, ever: Judy of the Jungle!

One of the best jungle girls, Dolores Del Rio, does a dance:

0033: Jungle Girl Week, Dorothy Lamour!

Believe it or not, film star Dorothy Lamour had her own jungle girl comic, drawn by a very young Wally Wood.

0031; Jungle Girl Week: Rulah!

While most of  Fox Features' super heroes were lame, they did publish some nice jungle girl books, including Rulah.

A very nicely made jungle girl tribute:

0030: Forgotten Heroines, Owl Girl

Even lamer than her boyfriend, The Owl, she only made 1 Golden Age appearance.

But at least she gave a hoot!

0029: Forgotten Heroine, Rocket Girl

Rocket Girl felt she had a bit less zip in her jets than she liked.

Wow -- another flying girl!

0028: Out-Duking Daisy Duke

She out-duked Daisy Duke and took her Daisy Dukes.

Here's a Daisy Duke tribute that goes hilariously awry about two minutes in...

0027: Not Little, Green, or Mannish

It was a 3 Way stand off inside the flying saucer.

Perhaps they were headed to The Wild, Wild Planet!
